Position Description

McCormick Rankin Corporation, a member of MMM Group Ltd., is currently seeking a junior CAD technologist for our water resources group in Kitchener.  The successful candidate will be involved with the delivery of drainage and stormwater management studies and design work for a wide variety of transportation and surface water-related projects, including highway and municipal road planning and design projects, master drainage plans, subwatershed studies, urban flood mitigation studies, stream restoration projects, stormwater management studies and facility design projects.

Responsibilities will include on-site storm drainage-related investigations, preparation of baseplans, storm drainage plans, design drawings and presentation graphics, assisting with the development and application of hydrologic and hydraulic models, and report preparation.   

The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic water resources group with 15 permanent staff members located in the Kitchener, Mississauga and Ottawa offices.
Requirements

College diploma in water resources engineering technology or civil engineering technology with some water resources courses;
· Some relevant work experience is an asset;
· Eligible for registration with OACETT;
· Strong interest in the design of surface water-related infrastructure;
·  Experience with AutoCAD is required;

·  Experience with Civil 3D is an asset;

· Some experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using software such as HEC-RAS, SWMHYMO, MIDUSS is an asset;
· Experience in local design and construction practices is an asset;
· Strong communication and organizational skills;
· Committed team player.
