Established in 1970, Ecoplans Limited pioneered the integration of natural and physical sciences, with environmental planning, environmental management and environmental impact assessment practices. For almost 40 years, Ecoplans has been providing a multi-disciplinary, holistic approach to addressing environmental concerns. As the company has grown from a small group of professionals to a staff of over 60, we have managed to maintain our ‘small company’ atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration and our high level of client service and satisfaction.
Ecoplans takes pride in providing objective and comprehensive assessments of the full range of natural features and environmental constraints relevant to a specific project. Our team of experienced ecologists, biologists, planners, landscape architects, hydrogeologists, and water resources engineers routinely work in close collaboration with each other and with design engineers to provide integrated solutions to environmental issues. Ecoplans also endeavors to stay abreast of the latest research and technologies that relate to our work, with a focus on continuous development of the environmental solutions that we recommend. This integrated and forward-thinking approach has placed Ecoplans at the forefront of the environmental consulting industry with a solid reputation across Canada.
The range of services that Ecoplans provides include: Ecological Services (wildlife biology, terrestrial and wetland ecology and aquatic sciences), Landscape Architecture, Environmental Planning, Hydrogeology, Environmental Site Assessment and Remediation, Environmental Inspection, Expert Testimony and Peer Review. Ecoplans also has a Water Resources Engineering group and a strong Geographic Information System (GIS) department. Please view Our Services link for more detailed information on the specialized services that Ecoplans provides.
Ecoplans has completed more than 3000 projects for both public and private sector clients. Key clients have included municipalities (e.g. Region of Waterloo, City of Toronto), government agencies (e.g. the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, Parks Canada) academic institutions and many private sector clients including residential, rural and estate developments, commercial developments, the aggregate industry and energy industry. Ecoplans takes pride in our ability to maintain professional integrity across this broad client and project base by emphasizing objectivity and by taking clearly defined, defensible approaches to our projects.
In 2008, Ecoplans recently became a member of MMM Group but maintains its Head Office in Kitchener, with branch offices in Mississauga and Thornhill. For employment opportunities, please visit the Careers page.
