| Established in 1970,
Ecoplans Limited provides consulting services in the natural sciences, environmental
planning, environmental management and environmental impact assessment. Ecoplans Limited
pioneered in the integration of the natural sciences with professional disciplines such as
land-use and transportation planning, landscape architecture, engineering and land
management. In recent years, Ecoplans has expanded its broad base of expertise in ecology
and environmental planning to include professionals in landscape architecture and water
resource engineering. We continue to emphasize the maintenance of high quality technical
skills, along with the formulation of innovative, cost-effective approaches to dealing
with environmental issues.

| For many years, Ecoplans Limited has
advocated an interdisciplinary, holistic approach to addressing environmental concerns. We
strive to ensure that the best fit between people and nature is achieved in terms of
optimal designs that allow for the conservation and management of natural features, while
at the same time recognizing the economic realities of the 1990's and beyond. Our team of
professional and technical staff provides the broad base of technical knowledge and
practical experience needed to deal appropriately with environmental issues within today's
environmental planning framework. We are committed to maintaining a close working
relationship with our clients and with other members of the project team.

| Consulting services are provided to
a diverse range of both public and private sector clients. Our corporate experience
extends to all phases of land use planning and environmental assessment, ranging from
initial concept development, policy formulation and peer reviews, to detailed inventories
and impact assessments, and finally to construction supervision and post-construction
monitoring. We develop detailed management strategies to ensure the maintenance of natural
features in a changing landscape; these range from fisheries compensation plans for stream
crossings to natural heritage systems for entire watersheds or planning jurisdictions. Our
projects encompass everything from relatively small single-factor studies to complex
multi-factor impact assessments for major utility and transportation corridors and large
scale area developments.
|
|||
| Our professional staff are
experienced in assessing the significance of natural communities such as streams, lakes,
wetlands and forests through an understanding of their associated features, functions and
dependencies. This knowledge and ability is essential if land use changes are to be
planned and designed in a manner that is appropriate to a particular natural setting.
Ecoplans Limited takes pride in our ability to maintain professional integrity across a
broad client and project base by emphasizing objectivity and by taking clearly defined,
defensible approaches to our projects.
